TALIPAO, Sulu—The Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT) Sulu Provincial Office spearheaded on Friday, Dec. 27, the groundbreaking ceremony for a 2-kilometer concrete farm-tourism road in Barangay Bandang, Talipao, Sulu Province.
Funded under the Special Development Fund (SDF) 2022, the project aims to significantly benefit the coconut farmers of the barangay.
The ceremony was attended by key officials and stakeholders, including Minister Abuamri Taddik of MTIT, who expressed gratitude for the project’s approval.
“Thanks to our Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim for approving this project,” Minister Taddik stated.
“Let us give thanks to Allah and focus on development. Let us work together so that our farmers will prosper and the lives of their children will improve,” Minister Taddik added.
Engr. Kadil Sulaik, Jr., project manager of the Special Development Fund-Project Management Office (SDF-PMO), whose message was read by representative Esmael Usop, Engineer III, highlighted the project’s broader significance.
“This farm-tourism road is more than just an infrastructure investment,” he emphasized.
“It symbolizes a connection to economic growth, improved mobility, and wider opportunities for our countrymen,” he added.
Hon. Nivocadnezar Tulawie, Mayor of Talipao Municipality, represented by Mohammad Alam Pala, municipal administrator, pledged the municipality’s full support.
“Thank you very much to the BARMM, you can always count on our full support for any project you undertake here in Talipao,” Pala conveyed.
The new road is expected to significantly improve access to markets for the coconut farmers, boosting their income and overall quality of life.
