SULU – The Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism’s (MTIT) Sulu Provincial Office, along with the Municipal Local Government of Talipao, inaugurated on March 28, a newly built Negosyo Center in the town.
MTIT-Sulu Provincial Director Nagdar Sasapan said the Negosyo Center was set-up to bring ease of doing business and facilitate access to services for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the municipality.
The center is in pursuant to Republic Act No. 10644, otherwise known as the “Go Negosyo Act”, which seeks to promote job generation and inclusive growth through development of MSMEs.
MTIT-Sulu’s Chief Trade-Industry Development Specialist Timhar Tiplahan said the establishment of Negosyo Center in Talipao is a result of its booming economy and an indication that more businesses will be opened soon in the municipality.
MTIT-Sulu is looking forward to establishing more Negosyo Centers in the other parts of the province to cater a wider scope of services to MSMEs.
Three Negosyo Centers are now established in Sulu which are located at the municipalities of Jolo, Maimbung, and Talipao.
Present during the inauguration ceremony were representatives from the MSME Development Council, Ministries of Interior and Local Government (MILG) and Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), business and women sectors, and others. (Alline Jamar Undikan/BIO)
