COTABATO CITY—As part of the Bangsamoro Government’s aim to support local businesses and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the city, the Ministry of Trade, Investment, and Tourism (MTIT) inaugurated its Cotabato City Field Office on on Oct. 6.
The new field office, located at 8Z old Barter Tourism Complex, Gov. Gutierrez Avenue, sought to provide physical and valuable resources for the socio-economic development of Cotabateños, as it also stands as a steadfast pillar of support for the MSMEs that form the backbone of the city’s economic landscape.
MTIT Minister Abuamri Taddik underscored the Government of the Day’s unwavering support for the development of Cotabato City.
“We in the government service must accept the fact that we are all accountable and we must reciprocate commitment to all our Cotabateños for the well-being, progress, development, and betterment of Cotabato City,” Taddik said.
“Bangsamoro employees who are delegated and entrusted with the responsibility must do their job efficiently for our Cotabateños and in the name of public service,” he added.
To support this move, the Technology Empowerment for Education, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Economic Development (Tech4Ed) provided computer equipment packages to the MTIT-CCFO to provide physical and easy access to its services.
Chief of Technical Operations Division Guilbert Simene of Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT XII) led the turnover of the said equipment
He emphasized the importance of healthy synergies and collaboration in serving the community in their socio-economic development through digitalization.
“DICT XII is committed to bridging the digital gap through online resources and digital literacy education. We make sure that everyone can easily access the digitalization and access information,” Simene said.
“This event is a start and continuation of our partnership towards progressive communities and promote meaningful ICT-enabled jobs in socio-economically disadvantaged areas,” he added.
Accordingly, establishing the MTIT-CCFO and Tech4Ed Center will enhance the ability to reach a wider audience and provide valuable resources and employment opportunities to the people of Cotabato City.
The MTIT-CCFO’s establishment is part of the 3rd Priority of BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim under his Enhanced 12-Priority Agenda, aiming to boost the economic development in the region by capitalizing on its competitive advantage when it comes to the economic potential of industry and ecotourism.
