COTABATO CITY—Newly elected Bangsamoro planners have vowed to promote regional development after taking their oaths during the assembly of the League of Local Planning and Development Coordinators of the Philippines Inc. (LLPDCPI) on June 26 in Davao City.
The Bangsamoro planners, comprising provincial planning and development coordinators (PPDCs), city planning and development coordinators (CPDCs), and municipal planning and development coordinators (MPDCs), elected the following officers:
Engr. Nulfarid Ampatuan, EnP, PPDC of Maguindanao del Sur, as Regional President;
Engr. Ben Akalal, Assistant PPDC of Sulu, as Regional Vice President;
May Quesada, EnP, MPDC of Parang, Maguindanao del Norte, as Regional Secretary;
Soraida Aratuc, MPDC of Buldon, Maguindanao del Norte, as Regional Treasurer;
Mohamad Odin, MPDC of Datu Piang, Maguindanao del Sur, as Regional Auditor;
Alikhan Abuat, EnP, CPDC of Marawi City, as Regional Information Officer; and
Engr. Abdulrauf Sali, EnP, MPDC of Tipo-Tipo, Basilan, as Regional Business Manager.
The election was guided by Engr. Paulo D. Cagara, MPDC of Upi, Maguindanao del Norte, and MPDC Vice President of LLPDCPI Mindanao Chapter. It was facilitated by the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) through the Local Planning and Coordinating Division (LPCD), which served as the ad hoc committee during the event.
A total of 46 regular and associate LLPDCPI members participated in the election, with 18 attending physically and 28 via video teleconference.
Regular members of the LLPDCPI Provincial Chapters holding plantilla positions were nominated for various positions in the regional league and were also qualified voters during the election.
“Alhamdulillah! I am grateful to all of the planners for your trust and the chance to serve. Let us leverage our organization to foster unity, peace, and development,” Ampatuan, the elected president, said.
Creating the regional chapter for planner officers in BARMM aims to foster strategic planning projects from regional to local levels, ensuring government objectives for regional and local planning are achieved. (Kasan Usop, Jr./BIO with reports from BPDA)
