SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA—A total of 518 constituents here have received free medical aid from the Bangsamoro Government through its Project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) medical outreach on May 2, 2024, in Rajahmuda, Ligawasan Municipality.
The medical mission is part of the health ancillary support of the said project as one of the flagship programs of Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim that extends immediate support to the Bangsamoro within and outside the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
During the program, residents availed of various medical services such as dispensing medicines, free consultations, check-ups, dental services, circumcision services, and other health-related assistance.
Member of the 80-seat Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) parliament Akmad Abas told reporters during the event that such vital services rendered by different agencies in BARMM manifest the regional government’s commitment to improve the lives of its constituents.
“We have seen tremendous efforts from the BARMM ranging from social, livelihood, and health since its inception. Hence, it’s only proper to keep supporting our cause,” Abas said.
Residents who availed of the medical services expressed their appreciation to the regional government citing that BARMM consistently provides them different services for their welfare.
“Thank you so much, it feels good to receive aid from BARMM, especially since some medical services are unavailable in our locality,” the 35-year-old resident said in the vernacular who availed tooth extraction.
Sittie Majadiyah Omar of Project TABANG stated that the initiative was possible through collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) as the lead partner, Project TABANG’s Health Ancillary Services, and the Regional Medical and Dental Unit of the Police Regional Office for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (RMDU-PROBAR).
This collaboration was coordinated with the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Ligawasan, and the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Rajamuda. (Abdullah Matucan/BIO with reports from Project TABANG)
