COTABATO CITY — Residents from across the region who were displaced due to tropical storm Paeng are continuously receiving relief assistance from the Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Social Welfare and Development (MSSD).
On Sunday, Oct. 30, MSSD provided medicines, hygiene kits, and non-food items to individuals who got injured due to landslides at Barangay Kusiong in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte. On the same day, 500 sacks of rice and food packs were also delivered to flood-affected families in Brgy. Nituan, Parang of the same province.
In Patikul, Sulu, the ministry provided relief goods to affected families from Barangay Mauboh on Oct. 29. The goods comprised of 25-kilo sack of rice, food packs, hygiene and dignity kits, and sleeping kits.
Similar relief goods were also distributed to affected residents at Ibos Island and Brgy. Maladeg in Picong, Lanao del Sur on Oct. 29-30, respectively.
Meanwhile, MSSD also extended its relief assistance to 205 passengers stranded at Port Bongao in Tawi-Tawi on Oct. 29.
Relief distributions are scheduled on the next following days for BARMM’s Special Geographic Area (SGA) and other provinces. MSSD’s social workers will continuously monitor affected areas all over the region and conduct relief operations. (Johanie Mae Kusain/BIO)
