COTABATO CITY—Bangsamoro Sports Commission (BSC) officially opened Monday, Jan. 16, the Sports Fest Competition at the Commission on Audit (COA) Covered Court, inside the Bangsamoro Government Center (BGC) in this city.
This activity, which will run until Jan. 23, is in line with the week-long celebration of the 4th Bangsamoro Foundation Day (BFD).
BSC Chairperson Doctor Arsalan Diamaoden hopes that the sports fest will be conducted harmoniously and will bring the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie among players.
“I [really] do appreciate it if we can directly accept the outcome or the results of every game and it will be a stepping stone for a new relationship, and widely open communication that will promote the eradication of cultural and communication barriers,” Diamaoden said.
“Beyond the obvious health and activity benefits, sports can teach us much about life, it teaches us about teamwork, it teaches us how to get along with others, and it teaches us how to work together to achieve a common goal,” he added.
BSC Executive Director Salihwardi Alba mentioned that the game was organized to “play fairly, to gain more friends, and to promote sportsmanship.”
“We will watch you the way you play the game in your best efforts, not the way you did to win the game by harming others,” Alba said.
