SULU—Further advancements in agricultural services within this province are anticipated following the ceremonial groundbreaking on February 23 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) Sulu Provincial Office for its new administration office located in Jolo.
Funded under the General Appropriation Act (GAA) 2023 through its National Rice Program Research and Development Services, the building amounting to P5 million is expected to further develop MAFAR services leading to increased food security and economic growth.
MAFAR-BARMM Superintendent Patrodin Ismael expressed hope for the expansion of such projects and the protection of the newly constructed building.
“Sana madagdagan pa ang ganitong project at mapangalagaan dahil ngayon lang tayo magkakaroon ng admin building na galing sa national fund,” he said.
[I hope that projects like this will continue to increase and be sustained because it is only now that we will have a nationally funded administration building.]
MAFAR-Sulu Provincial Director Alfie U. Iribani extended his gratitude for the approval of this project, stating that it would significantly contribute to the operational services of MAFAR in the province of Sulu.
Engr. Sarha A. Sangkula, the supervising agriculturist of the agribusiness and marketing assistance section (AMAS), also expressed her appreciation to the MAFAR Regional Office.
“Alhamdulillah, after many years, we can finally see a new [building] here in MAFAR, and rest assured that this will be properly monitored,” Sangkula said.
The new administration office is expected to enhance the overall efficiency and services provided by MAFAR in the Sulu province, as well as symbolize the continuous growth and development of the BARMM government. (Alline Jamar M. Undikan/BIO with reports from MAFAR-Sulu)
