COTABATO CITY – Bangsamoro Labor Minister Romeo Sema and Director Alimbzar Asum of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Mindanao Cluster 3 led Thursday, March 11, the official launching of a Technology for Economic Development (Tech4ED) Center at the Ministry of Labor and Employment’s (MOLE) office inside the Bangsamoro Government Center in this city.
A DICT project, Tech4ED Centers are delivery channels for relevant ICT-enabled services and content for socio-economic development of unserved and underserved communities in the country.
The installment of Tech4ED Center in the MOLE office aims to help job seekers and vocational learners in the BARMM through free internet access.
“Makakabenefit dito yung ating constituents particularly yung mga overseas workers na nangangailangan ng trabaho na ngayon ay nahihrapan pumunta sa abroad because of this pandemic. Through this connection, this technology, pwede silang pumunta dito at maghanap ng trabaho,” Minister Sema said.
Sema also said that out-of-school youths can also use the center for job seeking.
Meanwhile, according to Director Asum, different services can be also availed in the center such as Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) modular courses which guarantee a national certificate.
“May mga kurso tayo dyan na TESDA courses, ang kagandahan nito ay di mo na kailangan pumasok sa school. Nag-aaral ka dito at your own pace,” Asum said.
Tech4ED centers are also set to be established in the BARMM provinces upon availability of connection and resources. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
