COTABATO CITY—The Bangsamoro region’s tourism industry is set to receive a boost with the approval of Dahuwan Tampeh Resort’s registration in Tawi-Tawi province during the Bangsamoro Board of Investments’ (BBOI) meeting on June 27, 2024 here.
The board considers the investment’s significance in the island highlighting the growing attractiveness of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) as a tourist destination.
Dahuwan Tampeh Resort, situated in Tawi-Tawi island, boasts a project cost of P467,803,392 and is poised to become a key player in the local tourism landscape.
BBOI Chairperson Mohamad Pasigan expressed his optimism about the project, saying, “The BBOI is thrilled to welcome Dahuwan Tampeh Resort to the growing roster of tourism establishments in the BARMM.
“This project represents a significant investment in our region’s future, and we are confident that it will contribute significantly to our economic development,”
he noted.
He shared that the board looks forward to seeing Dahuwan Tampeh Resort flourish and become a major tourist destination, that attracts visitors to experience the unique beauty and culture of Tawi-Tawi.
Accordingly, the approval of the project’s registration signifies the resort’s compliance with BARMM’s investment requirements, paving the way for its construction and eventual operation.
The BBOI also expressed that the approval of Dahuwan Tampeh Resort’s registration is a testament to the BARMM’s commitment to fostering a thriving tourism industry.
“With its pristine natural environment, rich cultural heritage, and warm hospitality, the Bangsamoro region has the potential to become a major tourist hub in the Philippines,” the BBOI stated.
The board said new development in the Bangsamoro region’s investment industry serves as a positive indicator of investors’ confidence in the region.
