COTABATO CITY—An inter-agency basketball tournament marked the opening of the month-long celebration of 122nd year of Civil Service during on Thursday, Sept. 1, inside the Commission on Audit (COA) covered court, Bangsamoro Government Center in this city.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) for BARMM, in partnership with the Bangsamoro Sports Commission (BSC), organized the tournament to promote camaraderie among employees which will work for the welfare of the Bangsamoro.
Director II Dominador Gonzales, Jr., CSC Field Office-Cotabato City, said, “as public servants, we should be agile employees in our work, in our minds, and in our actions.”
“Agile means fast and quick to think in taking actions and responses to our clients most especially in providing services to our needing public,” Gonzales said.
Aside from sports events, a series of activities are lined up for the whole month’s celebration, which requires the participation of BARMM government employees.
“Employees from different ministries, BARMM offices and agencies are expected to participate actively in different sports events and activities, since the celebration is not only for CSC employees alone but also for all of the Bangsamoro employees in the region being the public servants or the “Lingkod Bayani,” Ayon stressed.
Other activities lined up for BARMM in this year’s celebration include blood donations drive, public sector HR symposium, appreciation program for the front liners, and photography contest.
Meanwhile, BSC Chairperson Nu-man Caludtiag expressed his gratitude for being chosen by CSC for BARMM as partner in facilitating the sports festival in this year’s anniversary celebration.
“For us in the BSC, aside from promoting the sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship, we are also promoting sports for peace and sports for all slogan,” Chairman Caludtiag said. (Kasan Usop, Jr./BIO)
