COTABATO CITY—Different ministries, offices, and agencies joined the cultural float parade to formally open the celebration of the 4th foundation anniversary of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 in this city.
The celebration is anchored on the theme “Sama-samang Paggtataguyod sa Isang mas Mapayapa at mas Masaganang Bangsamoro”.
BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim highlighted during the opening program the major accomplishments of the Bangsamoro Government within 4 years, since its inception in 2019.
“As the theme goes, ‘Sama-samang pagtataguyod sa isang mas mapayapa at mas masaganang Bangsamoro’, we can only be successful if we are united. January 21 is not only a day that reminds us of our martyrs and families that are no longer with us but it is also a day that reminds us to do our best for the next generations after us,” CM Ebrahim said.
Various service-oriented activities are lined up this year as part of the week-long celebration.
Also, a ceremonial switching on of Anniversary Light inside the Bangsamoro Government Compound (BGC) in this city will take place at 6:00PM. (Johaira Sahidala/BIO)
