SPECIAL GEOGRAPHIC AREA—The Bangsamoro Government continues its relief operation and rescue efforts in flooded towns in this area.
On Sunday, July 14, Quick Response Team (QRT) from the Bangsamoro Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi) was deployed from its Emergency Operation Center (EOC) in Cotabato City upon receipt of distress call from the Municipality of Ligawasan.
The team, in coordination with the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Armed Forces of the Philippines, detailed in the Bangsamoro region immediately carried out evacuation of residence trapped in already submerged houses.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) and Chief Minister’s flagship project Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailanan (TABANG) both carried out relief operation.
A total of 377 flood-affected families in Sitio Punol, Batulawan, Malidegao received welfare goods earlier today, July 15, from MSSD. Each family received welfare goods containing 25 kilos of rice, assorted canned goods, and instant coffee.
MSSD said that distribution of sleeping kits and trapal for the displaced families is also underway and while the same relief operation will be carried out in other affected areas.
Local officials in Buliok, Ligawasan Municipality had also confirmed receiving 500 bags of 25kg of rice courtesy of TABANG in coordination with Member of the Parliament Ali Salik.
