COTABATO CITY — To foster coordination mechanism between the Bangsamoro Government and local/international donors, the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) conducted the 1st BARMM Donors Forum on Monday, Dec. 13.
“Today’s forum will provide everyone a glimpse of what the BARMM Government has achieved so far, development challenges we face and opportunities in collaboration with donors partners,” BPDA Director-General Engr. Muhajirin T. Ali said.
Ali also underscored the challenges as well as the opportunities of governance that are addressed with the help of development partners.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim said via Zoom, “until now, we’ve seen how our development partners have saved the Bangsamoro peace process and contribute to the continues efforts to achieve lasting peace and development in the region.”
“This forum is indeed timely and imperative effort, aimed at strengthening the partnership and cooperation between the Bangsamoro Government and developments partners from the international, national, and local donors,” Ebrahim added.
On the other hand, United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator Mr. Gustavo Gonzales said, “this forum extended to foster coordination, transparency, and accountability […] in future development, cooperation is changing, we are moving from farming to financing and moving from simple assistance to capacity development, eventually to coalition and alliance.”
National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Assistant Secretay Gred L. Pineda also expressed the authority’s commitment of support in strengthening partnership with the Bangsamoro Government.
“NEDA is committed in strengthening our partnerships together with partners from international government agencies and other institution to effectively facilitate development assistance and support to the Bangsamoro Government,” said Pineda. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
