COTABATO CITY—The Bangsamoro Ramadan Trade Fair 2024 generated a total of P19,606,452 in sales from March 8 to April 8, 2024, exceeding last year’s figures of P16.9 million.
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism (MTIT), 50 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) participated in the event, featuring local food products such as native delicacies and processed foods.
“This year’s sales increase compared to last year shows our improved product showcasing processes and mechanisms,” said MTIT Deputy Minister Atty. Sukarno Abas.
He shared that this year’s Ramadan Fair has an average daily sales of P700,000.
“More than the sales we generated is the happiness of the people who come here at the trade fair every night,” Abas added.
Capping off the annual event is an awarding ceremony that recognizes the Most Promising MSME/Entrepreneur, Best Dressed Booth, and Sustainability Champion.
Al Habir Dammang and Benzaidee Sulaik, owners of Ina Sitti Food and Al-Diwan Arabian Food, respectively, won the Most Promising MSME/Entrepreneur Award.
Meanwhile, the stylish booths of Samra Maguindeli, under the ownership of Sinsuan Guerra, and MK Catering, led by Kahar Benito, captured the esteemed title of Best Dressed Booth.
Afreen’s Food Corner, owned by Anee Feya Amil, and Kingdom Fries, led by Sammy Turuganan, won this year’s new addition to the awards—the Sustainability Champion.
The Ministry underscores that this record-breaking total sale at the trade fair reflects the thriving market for Ramadan-related products and highlights the power of collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship in driving business growth. (Johaira Sahidala/BIO)
