COTABATO CITY – Members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) are participating in a four-day seminar-workshop in the city to institutionalize Bangsamoro Government of the Day’s legislative agenda.
From July 5-8, the activity is sponsored by the Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA), a project of the European Union that aims to contribute to the smooth and timely implementation of the transition, through capacity building of the three branches of the Bangsamoro Government.
SUBATRA key expert Reginald Pastrana said, “this important activity is anchored in one of SUBATRA’s key desired results, which is to improve the physical and organizational framework of the Bangsamoro Parliament.”
BTA Deputy Speaker Omar Yasser Sema, also the SUBATRA Focal person, said that the objective of course is to ensure that there will be coordination between the legislature and the government of the day, particularly in the actions of the latter.
“The Government of the Day, under the leadership of Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, is almost complete in setting up the bureaucracy of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region,” he said.
“I believe the Parliament and the Cabinet should develop a common legislative agenda in order to push further the transition process, and of course the delivery of basic services of the Bangsamoro Government,” he added.
The BTA members will develop a common legislative-executive agenda on the first two days and develop the parliament’s strategic plan on the last two.
BARMM Ministers are also set to provide updates on the first Bangsamoro Development Plan, administrative and moral governance, infrastructure development, economic development, energy and environment, and peace and order situation in the region. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
