SULU — The Bangsamoro Youth Commission Sulu Chapter (BYC-Sulu), in partnership with the Office of Member of Parliament Sahie S. Udjah, conducted on Saturday, October 16, a youth leaders forum at Notre Dame Commercial Center in Jolo.
Attended by 46 youth leaders from different youth organizations, the forum sought to empower and motivate young people of Sulu to be future innovators.
It also aimed to build a strong foundation of partnership between the office of MP Udjah and the BYC.
In his speech, MP Udjah emphasized the role of the youth leaders in the development of the Bangsamoro Region.
“I am challenging everyone to continue being responsible […] to lead the BARMM more successfully than what we are being today,” MP Udjah said.
MP Udjah also presented the different youth programs of the Bangsamoro Government since the beginning of its term as well as its future programs.
On the other hand, BYC Commissioner for Sulu Province Mohammad Faizal Alih emphasized the general mandate of BYC. He also presented the four priority agenda of the commission during the BARMM’s three-year transition phase.
Several topics were also discussed during the forum including the Parliamentary System of Bangsamoro Government presented by Mr. Abuzamier Asanji, Role of Youth in the next three years of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority by Professor Ayesha Warid-Sahial, and Significance of Youth in the Islamic Point by Sheikh Albijar Abdurajik.
