COTABATO CITY— As part of its priority agenda to improve the access to quality and holistic education, the Bangsamoro Government’s education ministry turned-over a two-storey, 10-classrom building to Upi Agricultural School in Maguindanao del Norte.
“I am overwhelmed that for 104 years of Upi Agricultural School’s existence, it is only now that it received this kind of huge project,” said School Administrator Engr. Sukarno Datukan.
The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) turned-over the P18.2-million building on September 21 in a ceremony attended by officials from the ministry and the municipal local government unit.
In her message read by Councilor Saidie Lidasan, Upi Mayor Ma. Rona Cristina Flores, said: “Since BARMM Government’s establishment, developmental projects have been poured over the Municipality of Upi that include varieties of infrastructure projects from different ministries, and now from the MBHTE.”
Representing MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal, Deputy Minister Haron Meling stressed that “the ministry’s success stories for the past years since the establishment of BARMM are through the unending efforts, initiatives, and programs to address all the unique needs of MBHTE’s stakeholders.”
In addition to the new building, MBHTE will also construct a P42-million worth dormitory that will be beneficial to the students of the school. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO with reports from MBHTE)
