INDANAN, Sulu – Aimed at delivering better social services and comprehensive development programs within the BARMM, the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) held a ground breaking ceremony on Friday, July 12, for the construction of a social development center in Indanan, Sulu.
The center aims to provide a secure and inclusive environment where community members can access a diverse range of educational and skill-building initiatives crucial for their holistic growth and advancement.
MSSD Minister Atty. Raissa Jajurie articulated a profound commitment to addressing vulnerabilities across various sectors through the establishment of the center and by ensuring that it is well-attended.
“It does not cater to only one sector, it covers all sectors that may be facing different sorts of vulnerabilities,” Jajurie said during her speech.
“Definitely, there will be people who will be in the center, it will not be left unattended… The [MSSD] will also focus on running different centers,” she added.
Sulu Provincial Governor Abdusakur Tan lauded the strategic decision to site the center in Indanan, recognizing the transformative benefits it will bring to the local populace.
“Maganda ito para ma decongest naman natin ang town at [magkaroon ng] better access ang mga tao dito sa labas,” Governor Tan said.
[This is good so it may help decongest our town and establish a better access for the people living outside the town.]
Echoing this sentiment, Allan Nahier Jainal, the vice mayor of Indanan, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the selection of their municipality as the project site, acknowledging the profound positive implications it will have on the community’s socio-economic landscape.
“Nagpapasalamat ang municipal government of Indanan [dahil] napili na dito mailagay ang project. Natutuwa ang mga taga-Indanan [dahil] makakatulong [ito] sa pagbibigay serbisyo para sa pangkabuuan ng probinsya,” Vice Mayor Jainal said.
[The municipal government of Indanan is grateful that the project was chosen to be established here. The residents of Indanan are delighted because it will help a lot in delivering services to the people of the whole province.]
In addition to its primary functions, the center will also serve as a designated safe haven in times of conflict or disaster, further solidifying its role as a crucial resource for the community. It will also feature a covered court designated for leisure activities, promoting a well-rounded approach to development.
The social development center that will soon to rise in the municipality of Indanan stands as a testament to collaborative efforts and visionary leadership of the Bangsamoro Government dedicated to uplifting communities and promising a brighter and more sustainable future for generations to come.
