The European Union (EU), through the Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) programme, turned over two (2) coaster buses and a LED wall to the Bangsamoro Government on Monday, Jan. 16.
Head of Delegation of the EU to the Philippines H.E. Ambassador Luc Veron handed over the keys to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, witnessed by Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua, Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity and National Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament.
Each of the bus was worth Php2.2-million, while the LED wall was worth Php750,000 which will be given to the communications team of the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM).
The buses will be used by the BTA members especially on the conduct of public hearings and consultations for the passage of their remaining priority codes.
Chief Minister Ebrahim guaranteed that the coasters will be efficiently used in delivering services to the Bangsamoro people.
“May these coasters serve as a symbol of our mutual trust and strengthen our collaboration as we approach the fulfillment of the transition period of the BARMM government,” said Ebrahim.
On the other hand, Veron said the EU-SUBATRA will support the BTA Parliament in ensuring inclusive public consultation in the region.
“Beyond these buses and information equipment, EU is confident that after the transition period we would have contributed in putting in place a more responsive and capacitated Bangsamoro Government exposing principles of democracy and inclusive governance as specified in the Bangsamoro Organic Law,” Veron said.
