COTABATO CITY—Indigent families in the towns of Matanog and Parang, Maguindanao del Norte will soon benefit from the Bangsamoro Government’s housing projects, following the signing of the agreement with the local government units (LGUs) on February 20.
Minister of Human Settlement and Development (MHSD) Atty. Aminoddin Barra said the agreement with the LGUs of Matanog and Parang in Maguindanao del Norte symbolizes the commitment and support of the regional government to provide decent homes for its constituents.
Barra reminded, “This governance that we have now is the continuation of the jihad that was initiated by our Mujahideen.”
This year, there are 900 housing units within BARMM and another 300 for outside territory.
In the municipality of Matanog, construction will commence on 50 housing units featuring entrance archways and 1 unit of a solar-powered water system level III, valued at P43,717,800.00 under the Special Development Fund 2022.
Additionally, a 50-unit resettlement housing project worth P38,857,500.00, allocated under the General Appropriation Act for Bangsamoro 2024, will be established in Sitio Malingao, Barangay Nituan, Parang.
Both housing projects offer units with a 48 sq.m area comprising three bedrooms, an outdoor kitchen area, a living-dining area, and one bathroom.
Mayor Zohria Bansil-Guro of Matanog and Mayor Cahar Ibay of Parang expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the MHSD for their invaluable support and provision of housing projects to their respective municipalities.
“We believe that the success of the BARMM Government and the officials therein is the success of its people. The housing project will ultimately serve our people and will continue for the enhancement of social services delivery,” Guro said.
Mayor Ibay has pledged his full support to the Bangsamoro government and has vowed to prioritize the needs of the Bangsamoro people above all else.
“Itong project natin, kung ano ‘yung wala diyan—talagang pagsisikapan namin na mapaganda ‘yan,” Ibay pledged.
