COTABATO CITY—Ten (10) vulnerable and marginalized Islamic institutions in Lanao del Sur received financial assistance from the BARMM’s Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS).
In partnership with the Office of Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Member of Parliament Diamila Disimban-Ramos, the ceremonial turnover of the aid was held at Ragayan Training Center in Marantao, Lanao del Sur on April 7.
Samsoden Sigayan, Political Affairs Officer IV of MP Disimban-Ramos, expressed gratitude to the institutions, saying, “you are our partners in disseminating the correct teachings and beauty of our Islamic religion, especially in combating the propaganda and radical beliefs of violent extremists.”
He also emphasized the vital role that these institutions play in promoting and maintaining peace in the BARMM.
Aleem Bashier D. Sharief, Head of Ma’ahad Rantian Al-Islamie, expressed his appreciation for the assistance received.
“This is the first time we have received recognition and aid from the BARMM Government. This assistance is a significant help to us, as we can now improve our madrasah and masjid, which will benefit our community.”
The financial aid provided to these institutions is part of the Ministry’s mandate to implement programs related to peacebuilding across the BARMM. The assistance was made possible through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of MP Disimban-Ramos. (Majid Nur/BIO with reports from MPOS)
