COTABATO CITY—Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) doled out financial assistance to the 120 former Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) combatants of four (4) major camps in Maguindanao on November 11, 2021 at Em Manor Convention Hall in this city.
Accordingly, the importance of this assistance is based on the interview of the combatants during the conduct of their profiling, and in consonance with one of the mandates of MPOS as peacebuilding capacity.
Program officer IV Sittie Janine M. Gamao said, “the combatants are receiving cash worth Php10,000.00 each as an augment for their subsistent lives, and this is just a pilot.”
“Last October, namigay din kami ng cash incentives sa mga former combatants in Lanao Del Sur,” Gamao added.
Meanwhile, Minister Hussein P. Muñoz said, “mayroong tulong ang BARMM government sa [taong] 2020, 2021, 2022 and so on […] be patient and sincere; we are in the process of decommissioning to attain peace.”
“We need unity, solidarity, and cooperation in order that our programs run smoothly and successful,” Munoz added. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
