COTABATO CITY—Ministry of Trade, Investments and Tourism – Bureau of Trade and Industry (MTIT-BTI) facilitated the organization of the Bangsamoro Business Council (BBC) via Zoom on October 7, 2021.
BBC is a region-wide business council which is composed of a Board of Directors of the different Provincial Business Chambers from Cotabato City and Special Geographic Area (SGA-BARMM) in North Cotabato.
Members of the Board were chosen during the online meeting where Atty. Ronald Hallid D. Torres was elected as Chairperson.
Anchored on the principle of inclusivity, the ministry intends to establish the said council for a well-represented business group across the Bangsamoro region.
BTI Director Hussein B. Biruar said MTIT envisions that through this council, those “issues, concerns, and other policy-driven matters will be rallied and be addressed accordingly”.
Meanwhile, MTIT Minister Abu Amri Taddik shared that their ministry is aiming to further the interest of businesses in the Bangsamoro region through the BBC that will serve as a platform for participation and dialogue for policy formulation.
