COTABATO CITY-As of September 2024, a total of 189,700 Bangsamoro patients were given medical support, amounting to P886,467,763, through the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARMM) Ayudang Medikal mula sa Bangsamoro Government (AMBAG) flagship program.
This was shared on AMBAG’s Oct. 18 Facebook post, showing that the data covered the aid provided from Dec. 2019 to Sept. 2024.
The AMBaG is a flagship program of the Bangsamoro Government that provides medical assistance to the financially needy Bangsamoro constituents, enabling them to have increased accessibility to health services.
“Sa pangunguna ng AMBAG, ang Bangsamoro Government ay patuloy na nagsusumikap na maipadama ang tunay na kalinga at serbisyo sa bawat sulok ng rehiyon at sa mga komunidad sa labas nito,” said AMBaG on Facebook.

“Ang programang ito ay patunay ng pangako ng Bangsamoro Government na hindi iiwan ang kahit sinong nangangailangan, lalo na ang mga nasa pinakamahihirap na kalagayan,” it added.

On Oct. 14, the AMBaG handed over a P5-million check to Tawi-Tawi’s Datu Halun Sakilan Memorial Hospital, one of the program’s partner hospitals.
Based on the reports, the Hospital already received P28,000,000 in financial assistance, catering to a total of 4,123 inpatients and outpatients.
AMBaG Program Manager Mohd Asnin Pendatun, who is also the BARMM Cabinet Secretary and Spokesperson, stressed during the activity that dialysis patients are among those who can avail of medical support, provided that conformity with the guidelines is observed.
“The AMBAG program continues to play a vital role in addressing the healthcare needs of Bangsamoro communities, including remote areas such as Tawi- Tawi. By providing significant financial support and maintaining consistent monitoring, the program ensures that patients receive timely and necessary medical assistance, contributing to the overall improvement of healthcare services in the province,” AMBAG’s Facebook page posted.
On the other hand, the AMBaG already partnered with 45 hospitals across the BARMM, including those outside the interim government’s territorial jurisdiction such as North and South Cotabato, General Santos City, and regions of Davao and Zamboanga Peninsula.
