COTABATO CITY— A total of 1,119 beneficiaries from Pikit Cluster 2 of the Bangsamoro region’s Special Geographic Area (SGA) have availed themselves of different social services from the regional government during an outreach program held on July 20.
The Special Geographic Area Development Authority (SGADA), headed by Administrator Butch Malang, organized the activity in partnership with the different ministries, offices, and partners of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Entitled “SGADA sa Barangay,” the outreach program was anchored on the theme “Bringing Social Services to the Bangsamoro” — aiming to bring social intervention closer to the indigent residents of the region.
Coming from the barangays of Bagoinged, Barungis, Buliok, Bulol, Gli-gli, Kabasalan, Macabual, at Rajah Muda, the beneficiaries received free medical aid such as dental check-up, health consultation, laboratory testing services, circumcision, and medicines.
They also received agricultural assistance such as vegetable seedlings, fish feeds, livestock vitamins, and others.
Food packs and rice assistance were also provided to the residents.
Among the ministries and offices of BARMM which participated in the activity were the Office of the Chief Minister’s Project TABANG (Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan), Bangsamoro READi (Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence), Ministry of Health (MOH), Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD), Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT), Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), and the Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG).
Meanwhile, BARMM’s partners included the barangay local government units, Rural Health Units (RHU) of Pikit and Pagalungan, Integrated Provincial Office Health Office – Maguindanao, Cotabato Regional and Medical Center (CRMC), Cotabato City Health Office, Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), among others.
