COTABATO CITY—Minister of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo is optimistic about a prosperous future for the constituents of Maguindanao del Norte (MDN), following the release of the Supreme Court’s (SC) decision on Wednesday, Nov. 15, addressing concerns about the province’s governorship.
During the press conference with the media on Thursday, Nov. 16, Sinarimbo underscored the Bangsamoro Government’s dedication to making significant services accessible to MDN constituents.
“Dahil sa desisyon na ito, matatahimik na yung problema sa Maguindanao del Norte. At ‘yong mga kababayan natin, mas matatanggap na nila yung kaakibat na serbisyo nung probinsya,” Sinarimbo highlighted.
[Because of this decision, the issues in Maguindanao del Norte will now be pacified. And our fellow citizens will be more accepting of the accompanying services of the province.]
“Lahat naman tayo, ang gusto nating mangyari sa Maguindanao del Norte ay mag-succeed,” he added.
[What we all want to happen in Maguindanao del Norte is to succeed.]
He also emphasized the importance of a clear direction, alleviating the skepticism among Bangsamoro citizens that often leads to inappropriate actions.
Furthermore, he stated that these barriers contribute to the slow pace and delay in providing government services.
“Ang gusto natin ay itama lahat ‘yon, para lahat tayo ay mas naiintindihan yung circumstances obtaining in the province of Maguindanao del Norte, para po mas bumuti yung serbisyo ng ating gobyerno,” he stressed.
[What we want is to correct all of that, so that all of us can better understand the circumstances in the province of Maguindanao del Norte, for the improvement of our government services.]
Lawyer Sinarimbo then urged the parties involved to abide by the SC’s ruling, enabling the MDN province to swiftly and efficiently serve its people.
“I hope na lahat ho noong partido sa case na ito ay maniwala na sa kautusan ng Supreme Court, para ho tuloy-tuloy na ang serbisyo noong Maguindanao del Norte,” he stated.
[I hope that all parties involved in this case will believe in the decision of the Supreme Court, so that the services of Maguindanao del Norte will continue smoothly.]
On the other hand, Sinarimbo also shared that the province’s employees have already received their salaries, a result of MDN Governor Abdulraof Macacua’s representation before the Bangsamoro Local Government Finance (BLGF Region XII) and Department of Finance (DOF), which involved the designation of a new municipal treasurer.
