COTABATO CITY—Ulambai Sendad of the Lagasabito Midtimbang Agrarian Reform Cooperative highlighted on Monday, Dec. 16, the economic benefits of the Agri-Trade Fair for Bangsamoro traders, including farmers and fisherfolk.
“Our cooperative and farmers are given this opportunity, which aided us in our livelihood,” said Sendad.
“The Bangsamoro Government has always been so helpful, and their tireless economic interventions made us focus on making a living, affording us to send our children to school,” she added.
The three-day exhibit features 20 cooperatives showcasing a variety of local products, including Muslim delicacies, fresh vegetables and fruits, coffee, and cultural attire, among others.
Fisheries Sector Director-General Pendatun Patarasa of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) encouraged the Bangsamoro people to visit the exhibit to support farmers and fisherfolk by purchasing affordable local produce.
The exhibit, organized through the collaboration of MAFAR, the Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT), the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), and the Cooperative and Social Enterprise Authority (CSEA), will run until Dec. 18.
The event is part of the annual Shariff Kabunsuan (SK) Festival, which commemorates Shariff Kabunsuan’s introduction of the Islamic faith to mainland Bangsamoro during the 16th century. (Johamin Inok/BIO)
