PATIKUL, Sulu – In its pursuit of providing quality and holistic education to the Bangsamoro youth, the regional government is constructing a one-storey multipurpose human development training center in Mindanao State University (MSU) Sulu Campus.
The Ministry of Human Settlements and Development (MHSD) led the ceremonial groundbreaking on January 30, with the presence of MHSD Deputy Minister Aldin Asiri, MHSD-Sulu Provincial Director Atty. Najira Hassan, and MSU-Sulu Chancellor II Prof. Nagder Abdurahman.
In his opening remarks, Chancellor Abdurahman expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Bangsamoro Government and to Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Floor Leader Atty. Jose Lorena, who initiated the project through his Transitional Development Impact fund (TDIF).
“Our leaders in the Bangsamoro have really answered our request…through the sponsorship of our Hon. MP [Lorena] and, of course, our Chief Minister Hon. Ahod Ebrahim,” Abdurahman said.
He added, “Sooner or later, this will be used by our university stakeholders and will help a lot in the conduct of trainings, especially, in the conduct of academic competitions. This is an answered prayer. This is a pivotal moment for our students.”
Furthermore, MHSD Deputy Minister Asiri stressed that the training center may serve as a platform in nurturing the minds of the Bangsamoro youth and help them improve their skills and talents.
“Basically, this human resource training center will be a venue for training and development of our youth and students of MSU-Sulu, in shaa Allah,” Asiri said, adding that the center will also be a place where those gathered can acquire knowledge and skills to improve their lives.
The groundbreaking ceremony not only marks a momentous event for MSU-Sulu but also underscores the commitment of BARMM in establishing a stronger bureaucracy working for an empowered, cohesive, and progressive Bangsamoro. (Alline Jamar M. Undikan/BIO)
