COTABATO CITY–In his visit to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) on Monday, World Bank Country Director for Brunei, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand Ndiame Diop assured Minister Mohammad S. Yacob their continuous support for the Bangsamoro Government.
The visit aimed to hear updates on the status of implementation of World Bank-funded projects in the Bangsamoro region.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the implementation status and challenges of the ongoing projects in BARMM, through the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP), implemented by the MAFAR and Local Government Unit (LGU).
Minister Yacob emphasized the essence of successful implementation of foreign assisted projects to build trust and confidence to the funding partners and eventually, it could pour more support in the future.
“We want government services recognized by the people through the successful implementation of projects and programs in the region,” Minister Yacob stressed.
In response, Director Diop thanked Minister Yacob for the beneficial insights and fruitful discussions they had while he assured continuous assistance from the World Bank on funding projects that will benefit the Bangsamoro people in the region.
Along with the parties from the World Bank are Senior Social Development Specialists Ditte Marie Fallesen and Mary Morrison; and Social Development Specialist Paul Tudtud Adolfo. (Bangsamoro Information Office)
