MISAMIS ORIENTAL-Ministry of Public Order and Safety (MPOS) conducted its 1st Bangsamoro Peace Promotion Fellowship dubbed “iMPOSing Peace” to the youth in remote and vulnerable conflict-affected areas in five (5) provinces, including special geographic area and communities outside the Bangsamoro region.
Fifty (50) youths participated in the activity on Dec. 15-17, 2020 at Kinason Resort, Initao in Misamis Oriental.

Minister Hussein P. Muñoz, assured that the ministry will engage the youth in achieving peace through integrating peacebuilding transformation to their respective communities.
“Kailangan nating mag-invest sa mga kabataan and nurture them today kasi sila ang susunod na followers na mag-pu-push nitong nasimulan ng BARMM,” he said.
Bangsamoro peace promotion fellowship will be the ministry’s annual program in line with the celebration of the Mindanao Week of Peace.
One of the mandates of ministry is to perform functions related to peacebuilding, reconciliation, and unification of all peoples of the region.
During the three-day activity, the participants were engaged to conflict analysis, discussion of peacebuilding efforts in Sulu and Basilan provinces, youth peace and security, transition extension, history of peacebuilding, conflict monitoring and reporting, advocacy setting, mobile journalism, and the project proposal-making.
This is to encourage youth leaders become more productive and engage themselves in activities geared towards promotion of peace.
Meanwhile, MPOS provided fund support to all the project proposals from each of the provinces for their communities, which is worth Php 10,000.00 during the culmination activity. Different awards and consolation prizes were also given to other winners. (Bureau of Public Information)
