COTABATO CITY – In support to the ‘PinasLakas’ drive or the nationwide booster campaign of the Department of Health (DOH), the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Monday, Aug. 15, started its COVID-19 booster shot campaign for the employees of the Bangsamoro Government.
Until August 26, employees can avail themselves of booster shots at the vax site located at the DOH-12 Compound inside the Bangsamoro Government Center in this city.
“Tuloy tuloy pa rin ang ating campaign against the COVID-19 […] Kailangan natin ng booster kasi hindi naman porket nabakunahan na tayo ay kampante na tayo,” said Dr. Muhammad Candao, medical specialist of MOH’s Health Regulation Division.
“Maganda siya (booster) kasi I have been exposed to COVID positive patients, sa awa ng Allah, hindi talaga ako nakaramdan ng anything na sakit o lagnat o any symptoms ng flu,” the doctor shared.
Candao mentioned that MOH will also accept walk in individuals who are not BARMM employees.
“We will entertain mga ibang tao na pupunta lalo na kung (sila) ay wala talagang vaccines, kasi although may target tayong population ngayon like frontliners, mga empleyado, but of course kung may pupunta we will cater them kasi hindi ito exclusive. Gusto natin the more na mabakunahan,” he said.
As of Aug. 15, MOH has already fully vaccinated 53.94% or 1,622,158 individuals of its 3.4 million target population.
Active cases in the region also continue to decline with 46 cases recorded in Cotabato City, 24 in Maguindanao, 13 in Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, 10 in Tawi-Tawi, 4 in Basilan and Lamitan City, and none in Sulu. (Myrna Tepadan/BIO)
