This year’s celebration in the region carries the theme: “Uniting Bangsamoro Workers for Social and Economic Advancement.”
In his speech read by Deputy Executive Secretary Abdullah Cusain, Chief Minister AlHaj Murad Ebrahim expressed gratitude to the Bangsamoro workers who contributed to making the BARMM as one of the fastest growing regions in the country.
“The soaring Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of our region is a testament to your work ethics. We wouldn’t have attained this if not of the skills and attitude of the Bangsamoro workforce,” Cusain said.
The Bangsamoro region posted a 7.2 percent GRDP growth rate in 2018, ranking it fifth among the 17 regions in the country in terms of regional economic growth.
After the parade, some residents of the region availed themselves of the free services delivered by the Bangasamoro government as part of the Labor Day celebration. The services included the following:
