To help prepare schools for the opening of classes in June, the Ministry of Basic Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) and the Australian government joined the annual national maintenance week at Kurintem Elementary School in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Friday morning, May 31.
Minister Mohagher Iqbal together with Steven Robinson, Australian ambassador, led the Brigada Eskwela activity and the distribution of learning materials, emergency kits, teachers’ kit, and cleaning materials.
Iqbal finished his early education at the Kurintem Elementary School. In his speech, he said that the most important thing the parents could do for their children is to invest in the latter’s education.
“Brigada Eskwela is more than just cleaning up schools; it is about coming together as a community and ensuring our young people on thriving in a secure and healthy environment,” he said.
Robinson was on his first visit in Maguindanao. He said that the Australian government is committed to the success of the Bangsamoro region.
This year’s regional Brigada Eskwela is anchored on the theme “Bangsamoro Nagkakaisa para sa Maunlad na Paaralan.”
