To ensure that the urgent needs of the families affected by the recent armed-conflict and military operations in Maguindanao are met, a joint meeting of the Bangsamoro government’s Humanitarian Emergency Action and Response Team (HEART) and the Mindanao Humanitarian Team was held on Thursday morning, April 25.
Among the topics discussed were the present peace and security situation in the area, situational report on the status of internally displaced persons and their needs, the extent of the humanitarian response and possible gaps, and the ways forward for stakeholders.
“We should look at the gaps or look at the possibility of working on sectoral needs or geographical because there might be affected families who are unserved,” Minister of Social Services Atty. Raissa Jajurie said.
Jajurie said joint needs assessment will be conducted every last week of the month.
