The Bangsamoro Government’s Ministry of Health (MOH), through its Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC), conducted a Nutrition Month Forum on Wednesday, July 10, at the Simuay Junction Elementary School in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao.
The event is part of the Nutrition Month Celebration this year with the theme: “Kumain ng Wasto at Maging Aktibo… Push Natin ‘to!”. It was attended by representatives from various ministries of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Dr. Maleja Jaamil of the National Nutrition Council (NNC-BARMM) emphasized that “the purpose of the program is to promote the consumption of healthy diet and to encourage everyone to get involved in physical activities and to eat nutritious foods.”
Meanwhile, Darul Iftah-BARMM Executive Director Mufti Abdulrahman Udasan talked about the importance of education to further understand about the healthy diets in Islam.
“We have to know what is halal (lawful) and haraam (unlawful) to eat,” he said.
