The Regional Ports Management Authority (RPMA-BARMM) announced the winners of its logo-making competition on Monday, July 8, 2019 in Cotabato City.
RPMA-BARMM General Manager Garib Abas said the competition was conducted as part of their efforts to come up with a new branding of the agency in line with its policy direction.
The judges critiqued ten (10) entries out of the thirty-seven (37) entries. Two entries were proclaimed as winners:
2nd placer: Morsid Kadir from Cotabato City with an average score of 89.7%; and
1st placer: Ronald Casugoy from Tawi-Tawi with an average score of 94.7%.
The winners received seven thousand pesos (P7, 000) and ten thousand pesos (P10,000), respectively.
Selahuddin Hashim, chair of the board of judges, said they looked into the concept, originality, and creativity of the design in accordance with the RPMA framework. “Yung napili natin, malayo pa lang, nakuha na ang atensyon natin na talagang nirerepresent nito ang RPMA,” he said.
Meanwhile, John Felix Unson, journalist and member of the board of judges, pointed out the ‘simple print journalism’. “The visual recall is very important. The fewer the colors and graphic details, mas mabuti para ang visual recall ng tao ay madali,” he said.
Ramadin Uday, graphic artist, critiqued the technicality of the design. He said the winning design is “very simple, yet contains graphic details that truly represents the agency and the new government.”
