A report from the protection working group, led by the region’s Ministry of Social Services and co-lead by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), showed that a total of 66,298 persons were displaced in the entire BARMM region this year, as of May 31.
The displacements were caused by armed conflicts, clan feuds, crimes, and violence.
Meanwhile, the teams and its other partners including the Office of the Chief Minister, have continued helping the internaly displaced persons by providing them with cash assistance, food packs, sacks of rice, trays of eggs, canned goods, hygiene kits, and others.
The meeting was presided by Atty. Raisa Jajurie, social services minister. She said the BARMM-HEART and MHT will have their next meeting on July 18 at the province of Lanao del Sur to have a closer coordination with the affected communities.
